Shortly after 0100 hours on July 2nd the Maybrook & Mechanicstown FD's
were alerted for a Serious Injury MVA at MM 25.5 E/B on I-84.
Maybrook Incident Command, Chief Charles Woznick arrived to find a Car
partially under a Tractor Trailer Truck with heavy entrapment. Emergency
Medical Personnel arrived and determined the Driver's injuries to be
serious and launched a Stat Flight Medivac.
After a lengthy extrication made difficult by the serious intrussion into
the passenger compartment by the rear of the Truck the Driver went into
respiratory arrest and was airlifted to St Francis Hospital in
Poughkeepsie.
Also assisting at the scene was Town of Montgomery Vol Amb Corps, Mobile
Life Support services and the NY State Police.
